While COBYS receives some county and state funding, this does not cover all the expenses required to deliver the exceptional level of care we deliver. Make the request through your financial institution or advisor for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA or a donation from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF).
Many employers will match charitable donations by employees, doubling or even tripling your gift to COBYS. Check with your employer to see if this benefit is available to you.
The end of the year is a common time for charitable giving, whether for tax planning or inspired generosity during the holiday season. Throughout the year, COBYS shares stories and examples of our impact allowing you to see firsthand the difference your gift makes.
ExtraGive, Lancaster County’s annual day of giving, is held each November, the Friday before Thanksgiving. COBYS is part of this 24-hour, online giving event, where donors – no matter their location – support their favorite charities. Participate at www.extragive.org and choose COBYS as your charity.
Designating your gift to the Care Fund enables us to provide for extra needs that children and families in our care might otherwise go without—such as clothing, birthday gifts, back-to-school items, special outings, and enriching experiences like lessons, camps, and life opportunities for foster and adopted children. The Care Fund also supports unreimbursed care expenses and our Counseling Center, ensuring access to vital mental health services. View more information on the Care Fund.

Kids’ Closet: Our Kids’ Closet provides essential new items to foster children and foster families including clothing, toiletries, backpacks, blankets, and toys. Check out our Facebook or Instagram for critical needs and our Amazon Wish List.
